The windrush generation & Bristol Carnival in St. Pauls : Una Celebración

I grew up going to carnival in Bristol it was a place you would go to taste Jamaican food, be around caribbean people and celebrate together. Many of us do not know where the celebration originated from. These lovely young people directed an amazing film about the windrush generation and the start of carnival. You will soon be able to watch the movie on their website. Since the outbreak began nearly 3 years ago the carnival has not taken place but the neighbours in St. Pauls have celebrated in a more personal manner. Some stayed at home with the family enjoying reggae music, dancing and good food, others in the street feeling the vibes and some in the Malcolm X centre remembering the Generation that started it all. What a blessing they have been to us all!
