"Manassas: End Of Innocence" 2002 Civil War NPS Museum Film

Narrated by Oscar-Winner Richard Dreyfuss, this orientation film shown at the Manassas National Battlefield Park explores the lives of both civilians and soldiers involved in both the 1861 and 1862 battles along Bull Run Creek.

Crowds optimistically cheered the Union troops as they marched forth from Washington, DC, in July 1861 to crush the Confederate troops once and for all and bring a quick end to the Civil War. Hopes were so high that Congressmen and other civilians followed the 35,000 Federal troops to Manassas and picnicked nearby to watch the ''show,'' but they were in for a rude awakening.
