Johnny Marvin on my new 36” Wilson horn with 20” bell and aluminium travelling arm.

I built this 36” horn to compare it with my 60” one. It sounds good, but does not produce the bass that the big one does, which is to be expected. It is however a lot less unwieldy than the big one!
I was inspired by the Aratino and Busy Bee front-mounts which have longish horns and the Zonophone front-mounts with their metal travelling arms.
I will probably make a pivot, like the one I have on this machine, for the 60” horn. It makes me think of the film Metropolis, which came out in 1927.
Record is Victor 21509-A, matrix BVE43696 (take 3), Oh, You Have No Idea, Johnny Marvin. Recorded 01 May 1928, released September 1928. Dang, that’s 96 years ago!
Photos show an Exhibition reproducer, but the recording was done with the Meltrope III and a superfine Burmese Colour Needle.
