Canada Goose Chateau Parka Review - Worth it?

Are Canada goose jackets actually worth it? In today’s video, I cover one of Canada Goose’s most popular items, the Chateau Down Parka. I go through the price, details, fit, and functionality of the parka and at the very end of the video give my overall opinion on whether this coat, or Canada goose coats in general, are worth the price. 

When it comes to the price of the Canada Goose coat, you can find the version without the Coyote fur for $995 or the version with the Coyote fur for $1,050.

When it comes to the details of the parka, it comes with two fleece-lined side pockets as well as one chest zip pocket on the left side. The coat also comes with dual locking YKK zippers so you can zip the jacket up on cold days or down for some extra ventilation when you start getting too hot. The feature I love most about this jacket in particular are the military button closures because I feel that it just adds a style element to the parka that other Canada goose jackets don’t have. The coat also has recessed rib-knit cuffs which prevents the cold air from entering through the arm holes, keeping you extremely warm and comfortable. You will also see a tricot fabric chin guard meant for blocking the cold wind from blowing into your face, which is an additional functional feature to the coat.

On the back of the coat, there is a Canada goose emblem patch over a webbed grab strap, allowing you to easily hold or hang your coat. Lastly, the back of the hood also has an adjustable strap that allows you to personalize the fit for maximum warmth and protection. 

When it comes to the interior, the coat has three additional pockets, two drop-in pockets and one zippered chest pocket. And then in terms of the actual insulation, the coat is lined in warm, 625-fill power down and so the coat will keep you extremely warm through any type of weather.

Judging the functionality of the coat, this jacket keeps me a lot warmer than any of my previous parkas. You definitely get what you pay for with this Canada goose parka as the quality and functionality are excellent. To prove its functionality, this coat has a thermal experience index or TEI of 4, which means it can endure temperatures as low as -13 degrees Fahrenheit or -25 degrees Celsius, and so the coat definitely does keep you warm in even the coldest temperatures.
