Mutual fund units को अब बहुत कम cost पर gift किया जा सकता है या Will के ज़रिए transfer किया जा सकता है, क्योंकि regulations में हुए नए बदलावों ने process को काफी आसान बना दिया है। पहले investors को अपनी mutual fund units बेचनी पड़ती थीं अगर उन्हें किसी को gift करना होता था, joint holder जोड़ना होता था या inheritance के cases में transfer करना होता था। Units बेचने पर capital gains tax लग जाता था, जिससे पूरा process महँगा हो जाता था। उदाहरण के लिए, अगर किसी investor को दस लाख रुपये का profit हुआ है, तो ऐसे transfer पर capital gains tax करीब एक लाख पच्चीस हज़ार रुपये तक देना पड़ सकता था। लेकिन नए rules के तहत अब Demat units और Statement of Account units दोनों को ही बिना बेचे आसानी से gift या transfer किया जा सकता है। इसका मतलब है कि Will के ज़रिए transfer, inheritance situations या joint holder में बदलाव अब बिना tax burden के हो पाएंगे। परिवारों के अंदर mutual fund investments को आगे बढ़ाने में जो सबसे बड़ा बाधा थी, वह अब हट गई है, जिससे पूरा process काफी सस्ता और smooth बन गया है। इन बदलावों के बाद, अगर किसी investor के पास दस लाख रुपये का gain है और वह units अपने वयस्क बच्चे को gift करता है जिसकी कोई income नहीं है, तो पूरा gain tax free रह सकता है। Mutual funds भारतीय households के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण financial asset बन चुके हैं और ये नए rules उस gifting और inheritance framework को modernize करते हैं, जो कई सालों से outdated था। इस वीडियो में हम समझेंगे कि नया process कैसे काम करता है, किसे इसका लाभ मिलता है और long-term family financial planning के लिए यह reform क्यों महत्वपूर्ण है।
