Let's understand INFINITY limits!

An Introduction to Limits as I have taught several times in Princeton University (MAT103: Calculus I). We will study the most basic example of a limit that equals +infinity/-infinity right from the first principles of limits. We will also show how mathematicians divide by 0! You will have a solid foundation through which you can continue studying precalculus and calculus in high school math and college math, confident in a conceptual understanding of infinity limits, after watching this video.

We will

- Study the limit of 1/x as x approaches 0 by splitting into a left-hand limit and a right-hand limit
- Show how 1/0 can be either +infinity or -infinity depending on the direction of approach
- Introduce the core concept of the vertical asymptote of the graph of a function
- Use limits to graph the hyperbola y = 1/x
