ELDERBERRY syrup recipe | HARVESTING MUST WATCH TIPS

Today Andrea gives tips on harvesting elderberries along with sharing her favorite syrup recipe.

Elderberry Syrup
2 cups dried elderberries
4 cinnamon sticks
24 whole cloves
1/4 cup dried ginger root
16 cups water(1gallon)
Simmer for one hour or until reduced by about half. Strain herbs and compost. Cool liquid. Add equal parts juice and honey. Should be about 8 cups juice and 8 cups honey. Yields 4 quarts.
