Collaboration in Online Learning
The “Collaboration in Online Learning” panel explores a variety of ideas including: the positive results of students working together on vocabulary activities to the notion of teacher-led virtual semesters abroad and virtual ambassador programs. During COVID, Darija, a historically under-taught Arabic dialect, received attention and became the focus of a curriculum-building project. At UC Berkeley, for the virtual ambassador program, during the period of the pandemic there were lessons learned on better retention practices. COVID created opportunities for language study advancements as well as challenges, which will be explored amongst other facets of language study, on this panel.
