Hydrangea Care Tip - Lush green leaves but no blooms? | Cranbury Fields Flower Farm

Hey Flower Tribe , many of you have asked me in youtube comments, " Why aren't my hydrangeas blooming this year ". I have also received many requests asking for tips on how to get my hydrangeas to bloom.

If you have hydrangeas with lush leaves but no blooms, you may have too much nitrogen in the soil . This will cause your hydrangeas to have gorgeous lush leaves and they will look healthy but this may be a reason why your hydrangeas might not bloom this summer.
Too much nitrogen inhibits bloom production even though it encourages lush foliage . If you can , have your soil tested by a local university or buy a do it your self soil testing kit .This video will give you tips on how to fix nitrogen in your soil.
