Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Fuels Technician, Maggie Dalene describes how the prescribed fire from August 2016 has improved, created greater diversity, restored the aspen forest, and improved wildlife habitat in the burn area near Hoop Lake on the Evanston-Mt. View Ranger District. Dr. Larisa Yokom, an assistant professor of fire ecology at Utah State University, explains why a good prescribed burn is good for the ecology.
