G20 Summit 2025: At the IBSA Leaders’ Meeting held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the international community to take unified action against terrorism, emphasising that there can be “no double standards” in the global fight. He proposed setting up institutionalised NSA-level IBSA meetings, an IBSA Digital Innovation Alliance, and an IBSA Fund for Climate-Resilient Agriculture to strengthen cooperation.

PM Modi also called for urgent reforms in global institutions — especially the UN Security Council — arguing that the current system no longer reflects today’s realities. Highlighting IBSA’s work across 50 development projects in 40 countries, he said the grouping has the potential to help bridge divisions in an increasingly fragmented world.
