Pompeii Forum 3D - Part 1

Pompeii, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world.
Buried beneath the ashes of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, Pompeii offers our eyes the wonder of a unique glimpse of life in Roman times.

Once the centre of public and political life in Ancient Pompeii, surrounded by temples and impressive buildings, the Forum was the place where justice was administered, where municipal councils were held, and where the buildings storing the archives stood.
Today, we can relive Pompeii Forum thanks to computer graphics and virtual reality.

Progetto Traiano was born from the collaboration between engineers and archaeologists and aims to use modern 3D techniques to revive the monuments of ancient Rome.
The reconstructions are the result of a careful analysis: photographs, publications, plans, have been reviewed in a critical manner, analysing everything in the light of field surveys.
