💈 Wet Shave At Colorful Local Neighborhood Street Barber Shop | Yangon Myanmar

While visiting Yangon last year, I got a wet shave at this colorful local neighborhood barbershop that opened onto a bustling street. We are so glad we got to capture this real local Yangon experience.

After seeing a photograph of this street barbershop in Yangon taken by photographer Steve McCurry in the early nineties, we wanted to find the same shop. Someone on Instagram kindly provided us with rough directions from what they could recall.

So I literally walked up and down all the streets in downtown Yangon looking for the shop and asking people. Walked straight past it once looking in the wrong direction before being pointed back the way I came! It was still easier to find than I expected. Well, I think it was the same location!

This barbershop is location in downtown Yangon on 29th Street, just off Anawrahta Road.
