ILR rules for UK after March 2027 has changed 😳

The UK has confirmed it. The English language requirement for ILR settlement is going from B1 to B2 on 26th March 2027.

B1 means you can hold a conversation. B2 means you can follow complex discussions and express detailed opinions.

That is not a small jump, especially if you only just passed B1.

This affects skilled worker, family, partner, ancestry and most other settlement routes.

Your existing test certificate may no longer be enough.

If you can apply before March 2027, do it. If your window is after, start preparing for B2 now, not closer to the time.
