NEET Refunds Were The Target

A 19 year old from Bihar tried to hijack NEET UG 2026 refund money by breaking into student accounts on the official portal. Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch says he targeted nearly 350 accounts and accessed about 150 by exploiting weak passwords and the Forgot Password system, which used easy security questions like favourite colour. He attempted to change linked bank details to divert refunds of around 1,700 rupees. NTA flagged the logins and traced him before any money moved.
