Perkins Engines - The last time the gates closed at Queen Street to visitors / site traffic.

Assembled from footage taken in the 1970's, this is a very short film that records the last time the gates were closed at the Perkins Queen Street facility in Peterborough.

Queen Street was the very first site of Perkins Engines, the factory at Eastfield was designed for Frank Perkins by my Grandfather F.B.Kelsall to allow for the rapid expansion of the company many years later.

As many people will know the Queen Street facility was demolished and now part of the Queensgate Shopping Centre stands where F. Perkins Ltd, 17 Queen Street, Peterborough, once stood.

For those that worked here, & for those that remember Queen Street I hope this brings back some fond memories for you !.
