Ford Fiesta Mk7 Faulty Steering Column (common fault)!

2010 Model of the Ford Fiesta Mk7 car with Common Fault - Steering feels clunky and notchy at slow speed when parking, reversing, turning into driveway etc. Appears to be a common fault with this model of the Ford Fiesta. We look at the fault/defect and carry out a repair in the video. Our solution was to re-lubricate the needle bearings in a universal swivel type of joint (like a mini CV joint) at the upper end of the lower steering column. However, if you have plenty of cash - then you may prefer to replace the whole lower steering column - but it's not cheap, and only available from Ford Main Dealers.

UPDATE - 6th February 2015 - Thanks for your comments. Car is running great since I lubed the steering CV joint. Mileage currently on 34,000 miles.

UPDATE - 2nd August 2018 - Mileage now 87,000 miles. Very slight roughness noticed in steering, but car running great! May re-grease these joints again on the next fine day.
