DIY Mushroom House Lamp Using Balloon, Air Dry Clay, Plaster of Paris Craft Ideas

This Mushroom house lamp has a big word says "HOME". Yeah...one of a very generous fairies has asked fairy house builder to build a house that can be used as a communal house for all wondering fairies who has lost their homes due to whatever unfortunate causes. It would be a home for them.

The holiday seasons is here. The end year is approaching. It's time for family gathering and get cozy with each others. The fairyland in northern hemisphere is getting colder. What happen with those fairies wo has lost their family and home?

So, this thoughtful fairy asked the builder to pick a big brown mushroom to build a house with warm light shining out at night with imaginary olive branches symbolizing peace. This generous fairy is actually just an ordinary fairy - not a rich one. She doesn't have a big budget. She is really a down to earth person. She doesn't want to have a flashy house. Just a simple one, painted with natural color. The builder got the idea...and, tadaa.... Newly built mushroom fairy house is done. She is happily sharing the video with you. That's the story of my craft :)

Materials:
- Cardboard
- Balloon
- Plaster of Paris
- Flour
- Water
- Glue (any brands)
- Hot glue & glue gun
- Acrylic paints:
- Acrylic paints: brown, lemon cream, burnt umber, white.

In the video you will see that I make quick air dry clay with simple ingredients: flour, plaster of Paris and glue with a touch of oil. If you've been asking how to make simple and fast clay, I'll recommend you to watch my video till the end.

Also, in this craft project, I have tried texture liner with my own mixture to write the word 'home". Honestly, this is my first time. I was a little bit shaky but it works. Well, there is always a first time thing for crafter like me and yourself. We just have to do it to find out how it would turn out, right?

Btw, I use homemade texture paste to cover the cardboard and mushroom shape. You can use ready-made spackle paste or joint compound as an alternative.

Be flexible with the recipe. You can add more plaster or more flour to have the right consistency so you can use brush to cover the cardboard.
