EA824 Billet Port Injection Manifolds: True Port Injection vs. Fog Injection Explained!

🚀 True Port Injection for the EA824 4.0T Platform is Coming! 🚀

Our industry partner Gorter Race Engineering is developing billet port injection manifolds for the C7/D4 chassis, bringing a true port injection solution to high-power builds in the S6, S7, RS7, A8, and S8!

But what’s the difference between port injection and fog injection, and why does it matter? Let’s break it down:

✅ Port Injection – Dedicated injectors deliver fuel directly into each intake runner before the cylinder head, ensuring precise fuel atomization, balanced cylinder fueling, and optimal combustion—critical for high-boost setups.

❌ Fog Injection – Injects fuel via a throttle body spacer or charge pipe, relying on airflow to distribute fuel. This method can lead to uneven distribution, inconsistent combustion, and potential knock issues, especially in high-power applications.

With true port injection, these billet manifolds will provide balanced fueling, better atomization, and increased safety at high power levels. Development is already underway, and we can’t wait to share the results as we push the C7/D4 4.0T platform even further!
