System Engineer - Technical Application Management

Good afternoon, this is Spiller The IT Headhunter again.
At present I am looking for a System Engineer (Technical Application Management) for
KBC Global Services that provides IT solutions for insurance and banking.
The team is partly Belgian and partly Hungarian.
At the moment we are growing the Hungarian part of the team.
As for the job and your responsibilities:
• The TAM team represent an important part of the ‘Ops’ in ‘DevOps’.
• The main goal is to further develop the DevOps oriented way of working.
• To set up more or better automated infrastructure services.
• Testing the processes of change/release, incident/problem, DRP/BCM.
(Disaster Recovery Plan/ Business Continuity Management)
• The TAM team maintain infrastructure services for business critical applications in 24/7.
• Some parts of the work needs to be done outside business hours or during the weekend.
• Experts who know the environment well enough are expected to give on-call duty, as well.
As for the requirements:
• You should know most of the following tools and technologies:
o VMWare
o BladeLogic
o NetBackup
o Windows Server
o Red Hat Enterprise Linux
o UAC scheduling
o WebSphere/WebSEAL
o Connect:Direct and UDM
o Databases: Oracle or PostgreSQL or Sybase
(You don’t need to have a deep knowledge in all of them. But at least in some of them.)
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Confident, convincing and diplomatic style.
• Strong organizing and self-management skills.
• Ownership and high level of independence.
• Ready to do on-call duties and work from the office twice a week.
