How to successfully apply to the Specialised (Academic) Foundation Programme (AFP) | Dr. O'Donovan
This video contains everything you might possibly want (or need) to know about the Academic Foundation Programme (AFP).
The AFP gives junior doctors working in the UK's National Health Service (NHS) the chance to undertake research/teaching/management alongside their 'foundation' clinical jobs.
In this video Dr O'Donovan (a former AFP doctor at Cambridge) covers:
1. How academic clinical training is currently structured in the UK
2. How to maximise you chance of securing an AFP post - including degrees, presentations, publications, prizes.
3. What to consider when selecting your AFP jobs
4. How to prepare for interview
5. How to make the most out of your AFP job.
This video is accurate as of 2020 and contains Dr. O'Donovans personal views. It does not represent the views of his employer. These are all my own personal opinions! There is no 'right' or 'wrong' answer.
