The Great Lewis & Clark Snake/Columbia River C-Dory Cruise 2017

Starting at Hell's Gate Marina in Idaho an intrepid band of C-Brats follow in the footsteps of the Lewis and Clark expedition downstream on the Snake and Columbia Rivers to Astoria Oregon. Lewis & Clark made this journey in 1805. Now there are a series of eight U.S Army Corps of Engineers locks to navigate through. Four locks are on the navigable Snake River and four locks are on the navigable Columbia River. The trip of approx 350 miles was made 7 actual days on the water, which was a tight schedule.

In this video I tried to capture the beauty of the river, some of which is so remote that it must have been as Lewis and Clark would have seen it, and also the versatility and functionality of our C-Dory boats which were the perfect vessel to complete this challenging and invigorating trip. It is long but if you stick it out to the end you will be rewarded with some of the sights, sounds and feelings that we experienced in this once in a lifetime adventure.

Special thanks to Colby (Midnight Flyer), Bernie & Bob (Vega), and Mike (Tyboo) for their contributions of imagery to this video.
