SFMC Power Tip: Find ANY Data Extension in 2 Seconds

If you've ever tried to find a Data Extension in Salesforce Marketing
Cloud and gotten zero results from the search bar in Email Studio or
Contact Builder, you're not crazy — the native search is genuinely
broken for global DE lookup.

In this quick tip I show two URLs that fix it. Paste in the name (or
just part of a name), get a JSON response with the Data Extension's
ID, then use the second URL to jump straight to that DE's properties
page. No browser extensions, no API client, no setup — just URLs and
the session you already have.

I also cover the partial Content Builder workaround (the "preview
from" picker) and why it's not enough on its own — it only finds
sendable Data Extensions, so any non-sendable / lookup / staging DE
stays invisible.
Quick notes:
- retrievalType=1 returns ALL Data Extensions (sendable + non-sendable)
- $search does a case-insensitive substring match
- $pagesize=200 means you usually get every match in one shot
- You must be logged into SFMC in the same browser tab — the URL uses
your existing session cookie, there's no separate auth
