Cliff Burton's Death & Metallica's Reaction ft. Eddie Trunk Mini Documentary

On September 27th 1986, Cliff Burton passed away in a tragic bus crash while Metallica was on their Damage Inc. tour in Sweden promoting Master of Puppets. Metallica's original manager was John Zazula. John Zazula's record label, Megaforce, released Kill ' Em All & Ride The Lightning, Metallica's first two records.

In this video I interview Eddie Trunk, who was working with John Zazula at the time of Cliff Burton's death: Eddie shares how he heard the news of Cliff's passing, and then I go into detail about the circumstances around the bus crash and the aftermath.

James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich & Kirk Hammett all survived the crash, but carried the pain of Cliff's death with them for many many years. Despite hiring Jason Newsted as the band's new bassist just over a month after Cliff Burton's death, the emotional scars of Cliff's passing never truly left Metallica, as I discuss in this video.
