Be My Husband | Realistic Orchestra ft. Jay Bee
Be My Husband
written by Nina Simone
Arranged/Orchestrated by Adam Theis
Produced by Adam Theis
Recorded live at Treat Social Club in SF on 4/26/2015
An obscure song by Nina Simone is re-envisioned by a 17 piece Jazz orchestra. Each member of the orchestra contributes their unique interpretation of Nina's melody, which gives this big band piece a uniquely intimate quality. Extremely moody, smoky and sweaty is the feel and as soon as the song builds to a climactic explosion, it's back where it started at an urgent whisper. Orchestrated by Adam Theis (Bob Weir, Blackalicious, Lyrics Born) and featuring many of the West Coast's finest horns.
