Our 11 year old Rheem Powervent water heater treated us to a lock out one morning. We have documentation from the previous owner that it cost $800. from Home Depot when it was new! So, I wanted to learn how to repair it, and possibly get a few more years out of it before it's time for a new one.

I'm no expert on these, so I had to spend some hours learning a ton about it. This ended up being my own personal "Crash Course" in Rheem water heaters. So, I thought I'd share some of what I learned with you.

By the way, I diagnosed the problem for sure on this. 100% certain... before I spent a penny on repairing it.
