Cycling West Africa

The journey begins in Casablanca, Morocco through the High Atlas Mountains and along the Atlantic Coast to Dakhla in the disputed territory of the Western Sahara.

Next, the riders continue south out of Dakhla, and through isolated Mauritania, sandwiched between the vast Sahara desert and the Atlantic coast.

Leaving Dakar riders head east past ancient baobabs, spectacular waterfalls, up into Guinea's picturesque Fouta Djalon and onward to Sierra Leone.

From Freetown we head back to Guinea before crossing into the 'Jewel of West Africa' Cote d'Ivoire. Then a last stop in the Ashanti Kingdom, modern day Ghana.
