Trudeau: 'Very serious situation' after vehicle explosion at Rainbow Bridge on US-Canada border

Canada has reinforced all its border security measures after a car exploded while attempting to cross into the US.

The car was crossing the Rainbow Bridge, which connects the US and Canada near Niagara Falls, when the explosion happened.

Two male passengers who were in the car at the time have died, according to CNN and other reporters on the ground. A border agent was also injured.

A joint terrorism task force is investigating the incident, but Canadian officials said it was too early to say whether it was a “deliberate act”.
