Aiki-jujitsu Joint Lock Flow Demonstration Part 2

We participated in the Mega Weekend event organized by Sifu Alan Goldberg.

This is one of the biggest and longest running events in the US Martial Arts community. (https://actionmegahoh.com/) We had a great time as part of this national level event.

Sensei Steve taught a seminar on Aiki-jujitsu joint lock flow combinations. His seminar was well received and the students learned a five part flow lock sequence that can be added to other approaches and helps develop fluidity and reactivity in the application of the techniques.

All of our students placed in the top three in the divisions in which they competed. Sensei Steve even won the Grand Championship in Weapons for his demonstration of Toyamaryu Iaido Sword technique. In the IBF Power Breaking our school set eight new World Records in Breaking and took two first places in Creative Breaking.

In Creative Breaking, our youngest competitor Grace took first for breaking a board on fire with a palm strike, then side kicking another, followed by a rolling kick to break a third. Sensei Steve took first in his division in Creative Breaking by breaking two boards on fire with a downward hand strike while holding a raw egg in his hand; the boards were smashed and the egg unbroken demonstrating power with control.

In Power Breaking, we had our young warrior Grace set the children’s IBF World Record for Kneeling Palm Strike Power Break. Sempai Sam set the World Record for vertical crane neck strike smashing five boards. Sempai Kevin set the World Record for seated lateral palm strike at five boards. Sempai Dave “DT” set two World Records, one for kneeling forearm at seven boards, and one for kneeling palm strike at seven boards.

Sensei Steve set two World Records, one for the newly established lying lateral elbow strike, and one for the seated lateral elbow strike at six boards. Our school now holds twelve World Records in Power Breaking!

It was truly a Mega Weekend for Classical Martial Arts of Long Island!
