Flight Review TK55 Singapore to Istanbul Boeing 777 in Economy! We fly Turkish Airlines from Singapore to Istanbul, en-route to Germany. Flight TK55, in Economy class. On this day, the plane was delayed coming into Singapore so our departure would be delayed. In addition, the air traffic at Changi was busy, so even though the ground crew boarded the plane very quickly, we were delayed at the gate by almost 30 minutes. The end result was that the plane arrived in Istanbul about 1 hour late and we missed our connecting flight. More on in the next video.

First, TK55 itself. Boarding was swift. Economy was in a 3-3-3 configuration. We were seated far upfront and very near the Business class cabins. We deliberately paid for these forward seats in anticipation that we needed to get off the plane quickly to rush to our connecting flight.

The Boeing 777 wasn't a new plane, but it had decent pitch in Economy, thanks to its 3-3-3 configuration. Once in the air, the service was prompt. Crew handed out paper menus, cool. The supper service started very quickly and without frills. There was a choice of chicken with rice, or pasta (vegetarian). I chose the chicken, which was really good, and reminded me of Singapore-style chicken rice without the chicken rice chilli. I also got a single serve bottle of red wine, which was great! I finished up the meal quicky and soon it was time to sleep.

The cabin was very quiet and plane ride was very smooth, so I did manage to get a good number of hours of sleep.

Breakfast was served about 1.5 hours before landing. This time, there was no choice. It was some waffles with vanilla sauce and raspberry jam. Taste was good! Went very well with black coffee.

Overall, the flight was very good for an Economy class product. But only problem was that we missed our connection in Istanbul, and I made another video on that. Do watch our missed flight experience video if you want to find out more!
