Grissom and Sara "Only Love" --CSI

Okay, first off, this song just screamed GSR to me. As soon as I finished Immortality, I heard this song playing in my head and couldn't resist the whale similarities. Aside from meshing well with Grissom's (cheesy af) metaphor, its also just a beautiful song about this one great love- which is so Grissom/Sara, I mean once they fall in love with each other, that's it, there won't ever be anyone else and they would never want anyone else anyway. Gah, I could go lyric by lyric with my reasons for loving this song with this couple and am being horribly in-eloquent in expressing them...I just think this song suits GSR really well

I just recently watched CSI for the first time and loved it. All the distinct characters and their personalities and interactions are just really, really well done -for any tv show- but pretty mind blowing for a long-running crime drama.

My very favorite aspect of the show though has to be Grissom and Sara. I adore their relationship and how it grows and changes with the characters over the course of the series. Their romance is so nuanced that the littlest interactions and asides can carry the heaviest meaning. Though it can be extremely frustrating as a shipper to miss out on their biggest moments, their story is kind of heightened by the privacy- somehow allowing an even more epic story to manifest between them and their personal lives that then, unavoidably, spills into their work-life, even when they try really hard to prevent the two from colliding. And we can still imagine all the headcanons we want.

And Sara Sidle-- I just love that character. She's brash and opinionated but can still be very uncertain, especially where romance is involved. Most of the world sees her as extremely hard edged and tough, but she feels each case personally and struggles with depression. Her departure from the show was so heartbreaking. I knew William Petersen left at some point but I hadn't realized Jorja Fox had (for a bit) left too and was totally blindsided. But 8x07...such a good and dark episode, amazingly written and acted.

Anyways. I could keep going but if I'm going to obsess I should do it on tumblr and not take up too much room in the description box :P Suffice to say I really recommend this show, I decided to watch on a whim and was totally swept away- as proved by this video. I have to be really into a show in order to vid it and even then actually sitting down and taking the (ridiculous amount of) time to edit is hard to do. But this took me just about a day and a half!

A note about other projects: If you requested a video from me, know that I am working on them! I have about three projects ranging from 1/2 to a 2/3 of the way done sitting on my hard drive but just haven't had the motivation to finish them! Sorry they're taking so long but I hope they'll be up soon. I just got obsessed with CSI- and Queer as Folk before that (if you follow me on tumblr, I apologize for all the Britin spamming)- and real life also kept trying to nudge its way in...But, yes, they should be done pretty soon :)

weekly anecdote: when someone in the fandom informed me of GSR's ship name I was like, "awe cute, gsr=grissom/sara romance, its an acronym like csi" and then, fully a week later I realized- "OMG ITS LIKE GUN SHOT RESIDUE THAT IS SO CLEVER HOW ADORABLE" ....not my brightest moment, I admit but whatever :P
