Surfs Up! Do's and Don'ts with @Julie Vatcher Artist

Welcome to another episode of the 3 Do's & 3 Don'ts! This time I have challenged and been challenged by the lovely talented Julie Vatcher! What's better than creating some beautiful art therapy of the ocean and beach?! Julie really got me on this one. Although I have created a beach scene before, just never without gold and that definitely through me off. I name this piece Surfs Up. I struggled a bit with this piece and it looks as though there is alot of paint waste but thankfully I was able to salvage most of it and will use it in an upcoming painting.

Julie gave me these do's and Don'ts:
Do's
A beach scene
use a tall thin canvas
use 4 different blues, plus a white and a sandy color

Don'ts
use a hairdryer
layer a cup
use gold
