Stopping The Clock: 2021-2022 Point of Emphasis for Basketball Referees

Stopping the clock is a 2021-2022 Point of Emphasis in NFHS Basketball. In this video we highlight some plays from a tournament game where proper stopping the clock mechanics were not used. Remember, even if you have a dramatic out of bounds play or a game changing block/charge play, the FIRST thing that we must do is stop the clock! Only after we stop the clock is when we signal our ruling on the play. Let's all work on stopping the clock as we head into the 2021-2022 season!
