Meet Mark C. Grafenreed, Class of 2025

Mark C. Grafenreed ’98, ’18, ’25 is an SMU Ph.D. candidate and three-time Mustang whose journey on the Hilltop spans more than three decades!

Mark’s story at SMU began when he arrived from Memphis, Tennessee, as a standout basketball recruit. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1998 before completing law school, only to discover a deeper calling to pastoral ministry. That calling led him back to SMU, where he completed a Master of Divinity.

This December, Mark adds another remarkable chapter to his SMU legacy, graduating with a Ph.D. in Religious Studies. Through his leadership, he continues to serve and inspire both the SMU and Dallas communities.
