I Built a Pop Melody Generator Inspired by Raymond Scott’s Electronium

Electronium-Inspired Algorithmic Music Demo

Prototype melody generator written in C++

This short video features six quick examples from an early prototype I’ve been building in my spare time - a small C++ program inspired by Raymond Scott's Electronium and his ideas on self-composing music.
The system generates multi-lane phrases internally; some parts you hear are synthesized inside the code, others are routed through Arturia Modular V for extra color.

It’s not a strict reconstruction of Scott's methods - more of a personal exploration, tuned by ear and guided by his approach. Every clip here was produced automatically from the same core algorithm, with little manual editing.

Tools & Notes
- Prototype written in C++ (custom generator / sequencer)
- Sound sources: internal oscillators + Arturia Modular V
- Inspired by Raymond Scott’s Electronium concepts
- All melodies and harmonies generated algorithmically

This is just the beginning - a sandbox for discovering how simple rules can evolve into something that sounds alive.
Thanks for listening! Comments and feedback are always welcome.
