From Brown Sludge to Gold Bar ! #shorts

In this video a thick brown sludge is shown that comes from a gold refining process where impure gold that has been mixed with other metals is chemically treated to separate and recover the pure gold. The remaining material forms a slurry that contains fine waste particles along with small amounts of gold still present in the mixture. It is kept in motion so the particles do not settle and get lost during processing. The mixture is then passed through a vacuum filtration system that removes the liquid phase and leaves behind a dense muddy cake made of solid material and leftover processing chemicals.

After filtration the material is broken up and transferred into a drying stage at around 70°C to remove all remaining moisture so that no steam forms during later high temperature processing. Once fully dried the material is heated until it reaches its melting point and turns into molten gold allowing the metal to fully separate from remaining impurities. A layer of borax is added during melting to bind with unwanted materials so they rise to the surface and can be removed. The molten gold is then poured into molds where it is allowed to cool and solidify before being quenched in water leaving a refined gold bar as the final result.
