Boeing 747-400ERF Flap extension
The Boeing 747-400ERF has inboard Krueger flaps between the main fuselage and the inboard engines 3 and 2. Outboard of this, are two sets of variable camber leading edge flaps. The trailing edge flaps are triple slotted, inboard and outboard sets. With selection of Flap position 1 degree, the inboard and mid-span leading edge flaps deploy. Trailing edge flaps remain in place. With flaps position 5 selection, the outboard leading edge flap group deploys and the trailing edge flaps move to 5 degree position. Further flap selection, to 10, 20 , 25 and 30 degrees only moves the trailing edge flaps. The noise you hear as the flaps start moving is the Air driven hydraulic pumps needed to pressurise hydraulic systems number 1 and number 4 that powers the flaps. Hope you like it😀 Later!
