A knee meniscus tear or injury might be the reason why your knee might be locking or catching

A knee meniscus tear or injury might be the reason why your knee might be locking or catching. The medial and lateral meniscus are positioned between your knee joint and act as shock absorbers. They prevent bone on bone mechanisms at the knee. There are many ways your meniscus can get injured. In general the signs and symptoms include pain inside the knee, feelings of having locking or catching and pain with end range flexion or extension. If you are experiencing these symptoms it’s always a good idea to get further tests and assessments done.

The meniscus get poor blood supply and that’s why it takes a long time to heal. To treat it you have the following options - surgical interventions, in joint injections, bracing protocols and exercising the knee to regain mobility, function and strength.

Try these exercises to facilitate the healing!
