Bellano, is one of the beautiful hidden italian gem on Lake Como is a community of 3490 inhabitants in the province of Lecco in Lombardy, located south of the eastern part of the lake.

The territory of Bellano was perhaps already inhabited in Roman times. In the last century the finds of Roman burials were frequent. In this historical period it was crossed by the via Spluga, a Roman road that connected Milan with the Spluga pass.
