Woman Pleads Guilty to Murdering Co-Worker, Gets 50 Years in Prison

Only minutes after 30-year-old Angela Mayo pleaded guilty to murdering her co-worker Shanina Smith, Judge Jim Roberts sentenced Mayo to 50 years in prison.

"I just want to know why did she do it?" said Shanina's mother Regina Smith. "Why did she kill my child?"
On Aug. 4, 2019, Mayo shot 27-year-old Smith four times after a morning meeting at Lear Corporation, where they both worked. Immediately after the shooting, Mayo drove straight to the Tuscaloosa Police Department and turned herself in.
