Sara Bareilles "SHE USED TO BE MINE" - WAITRESS - JENNA WISHES HER LIFE WAS DIFFERENT

From the Tony Award Nominated Musical "Waitress" is a montage using the live action film of the same name starring Keri Russell and Sara Bareilles' song "She Used to Be Mine." Sara wrote the score for Waitress and after it was performed on Broadway, it was announced that a live-action film was in the works.

Keri gives a good performance as Jenna, a waitress married to an abusive husband. She has an affair with her OBGYN, but after he can only say that he is "happy enough" she ends it. Jenns eventually tells her abusive husband to hit the road. The diner's owner is dying and he decides to leave the diner to Jenna. Jenna has her baby and names it Lulu.

I first heard this song when Golden Buzzer winner Luke Islam sang it during his audition on America's Got Talent 2019. Luke's performance earned him a standing ovation and the Golden Buzzer from Julianne Hough.

Sara Bareilles' song is the modern day version of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the Tony Award Winning musical, Les Miserables. Bareilles' gives a heartfelt strong performance.
