'Australians deserve much better': Bandt removes Australian flag from press conference

Former Liberal Senator Amanda Stoker says Greens leader Adam Bandt refusing to stand in front of the Australian flag during a press conference is "emblematic" of the "black armband attitude" towards our history and culture.

"And Australians deserve so much better than that," Ms Stoker told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

"This has been Greens policy for some time and I guess it's just coming to greater prominence now that we have so many Greens and so many Green-like members of parliament who will have the opportunity to serve."
