OT Controversy 1: How did we get the Old Testament?

We begin our semester discussing the textual transmission of the Old Testament (Tanakh) including the primary text types (the Greek Septuagint and the Hebrew Masoretic text) as well as the most important manuscripts, including Codex Leningradensis and the Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in Qumran. Next we discuss the questions of editorial activity and authorship with a focus on the whether Moses wrote Pentateuch.
