Most common Dockerfile Directives in 60 seconds. #Shorts

In this #shorts video we shall explore Dockerfile Directives in 60 seconds or so.
Docker can build images automatically, by reading the instructions from a Dockerfile. A Dockerfile is a text file that contains instructions, at times called commands or directives, which dictate how to create a Docker image.
A Dockerfile can also be thought of as a text document that contains all the commands a user could call on the command line to assemble an image.

The Docker daemon runs the instructions in the Dockerfile one-by-one, committing the result of each instruction to a new image if necessary, before finally outputting the ID of your new image.

Note that each instruction is run independently, and causes a new image to be created.

The most common commands used are FROM, LABEL, WORKDIR, COPY,CMD,RUN, and ENV amongst other commands. You can read about the other commands in the Dockerfile reference on https://docs.docker.com/engine/reference/builder/
