Maria Callas & Ferruccio Tagliavini: "Verranno a te," From Lucia di Lammermoor

Two of the greatest singers of the 20th century in an uncommon pairing. This is a reminder that Callas was much more versatile than the dramatic verismo soprano stereotype into which she is often cast. And Tagliavini is probably the ultimate tenore di grazia. They in fact fit remarkably well within the bel canto tradition , and this recording is, in my opinion, among the truly beautiful renderings of this deservedly famous duet.
