Midnite Cruiser (Steely Dan Cover) In Studio Performance - Brooklyn Charmers

Check out our rockin’ version of “Midnite Cruiser” by Steely Dan!

SONGFACTS:
-Midnite Cruiser was released on Steely Dan’s debut album “Can’t Buy a Thrill” in 1972.
-Drummer Jim Hodder sang lead vocals on the album version.
-This is one of several songs on their first album to heavily feature twin lead guitars. They would soon mellow out on subsequent albums; favoring lush vocal and horn arrangements.
-This song introduces the ‘Gentleman Loser’ archetype found in other Steely Dan songs such as Deacon Blues and Brooklyn.
-The opening line “Felonious my old friend…” is up for interpretation, but it may be a pun on the jazz composer Thelonious Monk and the word felony, involving crime.

The Band:
Sean Briskey - Guitar, lead vocals
Colin Peterik - Keys, vocals
Kevin Campbell - Bass, vocals
Frankie Lightning - Guitar, vocals
Alex Zeravica - Percussion

Produced and mixed by Colin Peterik at The Jam Lab in Brookfield, IL
