The Game Genie Explained
Ever wonder how the Game Genie was able to perform its magic? It's all explained right here.
Correction: At 7:40 the 68000 is referred to as a Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) architecture, but it really should still be considered Complex (CISC). Its architecture is very similar to MIPS which /is/ a RISC system, but the 68000's instructions are still more specialized and can be a variable length. The idea of substituting in 16 bits at a time is still valid though since the instructions tend to be much longer than that of the other systems'.
