The Garage Conversion Problem That Stumped Our Whole Crew and How We Solved It

On this garage conversion we ran into a challenge that required some real problem solving. We needed to run a new sewer line through the stem wall but the garage was already very small with a kitchenette and full bathroom going in. Furring out the wall would have cost us 7 inches of width which is a significant loss in a tight space. Cutting through the stem wall raised concerns about passing inspection and compromising structural integrity. So before making any moves we reached out to knowledgeable people in the industry and got the right answer first. When you are not sure, you ask. That is how you protect the project and the customer.
