What happens when you have multiple photographers shooting the same subject matter or landmark? The scene doesn't really change, so what makes each photographer's take so radically different?

In this video I'd like to talk about the concept of photographic interpretation. Often when I'm on vacation or in an over-photographed location, personally I tend to want not to shoot photographs simply because the subject has been visually recorded so many times. But as I explain here, this is almost an unfortunate attitude.

I've picked several locations of major landmarks and collected photographs of these same locations taken by different photographers. I think you'll see in this study that when you collect the same subject matter and have different people create a picture from it you can still have very different interpretations. The talent and voice of the photographer becomes very obvious.
