Alberto Sironi Tribute

MHz Choice learned today (8/5/19) of the death of one of our favorite artists – and one of the world’s monumental TV directors: Alberto Sironi. He directed all 34 'Detective Montalbano' movies (two more are in post production) and his was the guiding hand behind the success of the series, on and off set.

MHz Choice had the opportunity to shoot behind-the-scenes interviews with the 'Detective Montalbano' cast and crew in June 2012. Alberto could not have been more welcoming – and at one point he admonished everyone within hearing distance on set that they should also welcome us. ‘Embrace them’ was what he said in Italian.

He was 79. Godspeed, Alberto.
